Arraignment process begins for David Maya - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

The man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in June on Wheeling Island was arraigned Friday in Ohio County.

David Maya, 24 of Maryland, pleaded not guilty to four counts of second degree sexual assault and four counts of third degree sexual assault according to authorities. 

Authorities say David Maya remains in the Northern Regional Jail on $500,000 bond. He was arrested in Maryland and brought back to Wheeling in July. 

If he is found guilty, Maya could spend 10 to 25 years behind bars.
