The Martins Ferry Purple Riders bounced back from last week's loss to defeat Buckeye 8 Conference rival Union Local 37-3 at Purple Rider Stadium.

The Jets had just snapped a 22-game losing streak last week, and managed just an Eric Dunfee field goal against the stingy Purple Riders defense.

Martins Ferry, now 4-1 on the season, is at Buckeye Local (3-2) next Friday night.

The Jets (1-4) are at Indian Creek.
