A traffic stop by Pennsylvania State Police resulted in two arrests related to drugs Friday evening in Washington County.
Carlos Raymond Gonzalez, 30, of Virginia and 28-year-old Landaux Calrissian Scott also of Virginia were arrested after troopers discovered approximately 10 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their vehicle.
According to authorities at about 9:50 p.m. troopers pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 70 headed west bound in Donegal Township. Reports indicate the vehicle was pulled over because troopers witnessed criminal indicators.
Troopers requested permission to search the vehicle, to which the driver refused. A K-9 drug detection team was called in including drug detection dog, Spencer. Authorities say Spencer was deployed to the outside of the vehicle and alerted officers to the trunk area.
Trooper Justin Coda requested and was granted a warrant to search the trunk at which time officers found the cannabis packaged in freezer bags and stored in a large duffle bag according to authorities.
Gonzalez and Scott were arrested at the scene according to reports. The investigation is ongoing.
