A week after scoring 52 points on Brooke, No.16 Wheeling Park hung a 62-14 loss on John Marshall at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The loss snapped the Monarchs' modest, two-game winning streak.
Wheeling Park scored on its first two possessions, Geramy Paige and Josh Dent with short TD runs. Bryce Ingram intercepted a Jeramiah Fromhart pass and raced 87 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-0. Fromhart was picked off four times. A Zach Phillips to Quashad Pugh touchdown pass put the hosts ahead 27-0. Phillips would later toss a TD to Eric Banks. Theo Blackston added a 46-yard touchdown run, and Ingram tacked on a five-yard run to make it 48-7 Patriots at the break..
At halftime, Danielle Walter was named the Wheeling Park Homecoming Queen.
Dent made it 55-7 with a 30-yard run, followed Pugh's second interception.
Both of John Marshall's scores came via special teams, an Evan Magers 70-yard kickoff return, and R.J. Kibert had an 85-yard kickoff return.
Wheeling Park improved to 4-2 on the season and will prepare for a huge showdown next Friday with Morgantown.
John Marshall dips to 2-4, they're off next week.
