
Millions of people are scammed every day, worldwide. A workshop is being held locally to help fight back against scammers.
Registration for "Operation Scam Jam" begins 9 a.m. Thursday at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling.
The seminar is sponsored by the AARP and is designed to teach attendees how to outsmart con-artists, about health care scams and how to protect their personal information on the Internet.
West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw and State Auditor Glen Gainer are the featured speakers.
"Operation Scam Jam" is free and you do not have to be an AARP member to attend.
