Pivotal Night for High School Football Teams

It's a pivotal night for area high school football teams as plenty of playoff positioning is available.

No.15 Wheeling Park (4-2 ) hosts No.7 Morgantown (4-1) in a Class AAA showdown at Wheeling Island Stadium.

The areas lone unbeatens are also in action, as Shadyside (6-0) will host Class A No.15 Wheeling Central (4-2) at Fleming Field. And state-ranked St.Clairsville (6-0) visits Edison (1-5), who will  be trying to snap a three-game winning streak.

In Martins Ferry, a pair of 5-1 teams collide, as the Purple Riders entertain Indian Creek in a key Buckeye 8 Conference battle.  In Cadiz, Harrison Central (5-1) awaits Bellaire (4-2).

In Moundsville, a pair of state-ranked Class A powers meet as  No.13 Weirton Madonna (4-1) visits No.14 Bishop Donahue (5-1).

The Magnolia Blue Eagles, No.7 in Class A,  will make the trip to Weirton to tangle with the winless Red Riders (0-6). Magnolia has won five in a row, since dropping the opener to Linsly.
