The Shadyside Tigers improved to 7-0 with a 14-0 blanking of Wheeling Central at Fleming Field.
Tigers quarterback Chase Kinemond connected with Austin Dorris for a 19-yard touchdown strike in the second quarter. But Dorris was also heard from on defense, as the talented sophomore scooped up a Maroon Knights fumble and rumbled 11 yards for a score. Kinemond passed for 104 yards, completing six of 13 passes.
Shadyside led 14-0 at the break, when the 1977 Tigers were honored at midfield, for recording the school's only undefeated regular season.
The Maroon Knights had several chances to score, but were continually turned away by the Tigers defense. Running back C.J. Burch carried the ball 22 times for 82 yards.
The Maroon Knights committed six fumbles, and lost three of them.
Shadyside looks to continue its winning ways next week when they host Buckeye Trail (4-3) at Fleming Field.
Wheeling Central makes the long trip to Mingo Central next Friday night.
