After WVU's big win against Texas, approximately 1,000 people took to streets in Morgantown, according to officials.
About 50 police officers wearing protective helmets, gas masks, and body armor were pelted by bottles, rocks, and other objects as they attempted to gain control of the crowd.
Crowds were setting fires, fighting, and attempting to overturn vehicles.
The crowd eventually dispersed, but several officers received minor injuries, The Morgantown Fire Department put out 30 fires, and the Morgantown City Fire Marshal's Office has charged five people with Malicious Burning. Police arrested 10 people with charges ranging from battery on an officer to resisting arrest.
Officials will be meeting this week to discuss response options to future problems.
