It was a packed house at Eastern Gateway Community College as the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce held their political forum.
WTRF.com's Nate Fluharty had the chance to ask the tough questions from the candidates.
The key match up of the night was Republican Congressman Bill Johnson against his challenger Democrat Charlie Wilson.
Also debating Thursday night was Ohio State Senator Lou Gentile and his challenger Shane Thomson.
The candidates for Jefferson County Commission included David Maple, Steve Vukelic, Thomas Gentile and Craig Billy Petrella.
A focus on the key issues were a benefit to the well over 300 in attendance.
St. Clairsville student Desiree Moore told WTRF.com, "I feel that I should be going to things like this and listening to the candidates' opinions, because if I'm going to vote for someone just because of their party affiliation, then I'm not doing any good for the county, or the country, really."
April Ogden, President of Laborers Local 809, "It helped me form an opinion. I know like, that Lou Gentile is doing a lot of things. He got that bill passed with the governor to where he wanted to do a study on to make sure that the jobs are local jobs and that's what we're supporting."
Those in attendance even had the chance to ask questions of the candidates.
You'll have the chance as well on Election Night, November 6th.
