The Wheeling Park Patriots (7-3) scored early and often in a 40-13 victory over Hedgesville (3-7) at Wheeling Island Stadium in the regular-season final for both squads.
Wheeling Park junior quarterback Zach Phillips threw touchdown passes to classmate Eric Banks, and ran for another, in the Patriots third straight win.
Wheeling Park senior running back Josh Dent started the scoring by returning the opening-kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown. He also ran for a four-yard score just before halftime.
Park junior running back Bruce Ingram, who surpassed the 1,000 rushing yard mark on the season last week, ran for 59 yards in the first half and scored a 35-yard touchdown.
The Patriots led 27-5 at the half, and will most-likely start the playoff next week on the road.
