Former Republican candidate for attorney general and West Virginia Republican Party treasurer Hiram Lewis was indicted Nov. 7 in Clay County Circuit Court.
Lewis, an attorney, was indicted on charges of malicious wounding, domestic assault and wanton endangerment involving a firearm. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 14 in Clay County Circuit Court.
Lewis was arrested in June by the West Virginia State Police after he admitted to shooting Stephen Bogart in the leg. Lewis later said the shooting was in self defense.
