
No.4 Weirton Madonna cruised to an easy 58-12 victory over No.13 Tug Valley in the opening round of the West Virginia Class A playoffs on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Jimmy Carey Stadium.
Madonna junior quarterback Ross Comis passed for 180 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He also added 81 yards on the ground, including a four-yard touchdown run. Junior running back Nick Ossman added 48 yards on the ground, to go along with two scores. Junior wideout Will Bowser hauled in a 33-yard touchdown reception, and intercepted a pass and raced 65 yards for another score. Junior wideout Marcello Biondillo brought in a 60-yard scoring strike from Comis.
The Blue Dons, now 10-1, will await No.5 St.Marys (10-1) next weekend in Weirton.
