MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. -

In Marshall County now, the American Legion Post 3 held a ceremony to honor veterans Sunday afternoon at the Marshall County Courthouse.

Veterans, post Vietnam era to those currently serving, were guests of honor. After the ceremony, the Legion Post on first street in Moundsville held an open house with free refreshments for veterans and their families.

Retired Brigadier General, John Sievertson says he's honored to be back in his hometown of Glen Dale this Veterans Day.

"Veteran's Day is for all veterans, those that gave their life as well as those that served and were willing to serve," he says. "It's a special day for me particularly since I grew up in Glen Dale, went to school at Moundsville High School, graduated, and it's my first time back in Moundsville on Veterans Day after all these years. It's a delight to be here."

Over 200 people attended the ceremony in Moundsville to show their support for our veterans.
