Many people have questions when it comes to natural gas drilling and fracking, in fact many people are skeptical of the whole thing.
Tuesday some of those concerns were addressed in a presentation to Weirton City Council.
On behalf of Energy Speaks, Joe Eddy of Just Beneath the Surface Alliance addressed City County Members tonight to give what he calls factual information on the benefits regarding the oil and natural gas industry.
Eddy and Energy Speaks has talked to many towns trying to make sure there is no confusion on what is really happening.
"There's a lot of good in the industry, it's been in our state since 1840 actually the natural gas industry has, a lot good from it and a lot of good to come," Eddy said.
Eddy added that West Virginia was considered the chemical capitol of the world at one point with six ethane cracker plants in the Kanawha Valley back in the 1970's.
"We're looking to do that again." Eddy said.
Eddy added that people are mostly concerned when it comes to the industry because of
misunderstanding and misinformation.
