A former Tiltonsville police officer has been charged with a misdemeanor count of assault.
A Dillonvale County Court official told wtrf.com a special prosecutor is now handling this case.
Coblentz was the officer being investigated for an alleged beating that occurred in April.
Police said this investigation stemmed from five men in a car who allegedly jumped out and beat a man on April 16th.
The alleged incident happened in Jefferson County.
