West Virginia State Police are sending out a warning to motorists who plan to travel during the upcoming holiday season.

Troopers said they are seeing many different violations, including drivers who do not move over when there is an emergency vehicle on the right shoulder.

Drivers are also going too slowly for the fast lane, often after making an illegal U-turn, troopers said.

These violations can cause accidents and traffic jams.

Speeding is another common issue troopers see on the road.

"Just because the speed limit says 75 or 55, that doesn't mean that at times of inclement weather you can proceed at that speed," said Sgt. Michael Baylous.

Bottom line, if you're caught breaking the rules of the road, you might get a ticket.
