Local Shops Ready For 'Small Business Saturday'

WHEELING -

While the big department stores are preparing for Black Friday madness, our locally owned small businesses will have a chance to shine the day after.

"Black Friday is really about all the big department stores, and it's really nice to have a day just for us," Lydia Zadrozny of Nini's Treasures in the Highlands told 7News.

For small businesses, every dollar and customer counts.

At Nini's Treasures, they'll be running special deals, like $10 off your purchase of 75 or more and discounts on popular gift items like Brighton, Pandora and Vera Bradley.

At Shabby 2 Chic in Centre Market, the new business will be participating in their first Small Business Saturday.

"This is my very first time ever owning and it means a lot to me because I'd love to get more of Wheeling to come and see what I have to offer," Owner Nancy Bonnesen said.

Shabby 2 Chic will offer refreshments, a raffle for one of their Christmas sleighs and 10% off everything in the store.

The day will be a chance for consumers to pick up unique gifts they won't find in big department stores.

Centre Cup Coffee is also participating in Small Business Saturday by offering a 10% discount on cookie trays made by Giorgio Cookie Company.

Owner Teresa Childers said her shop is a great place to stop and grab a latte while browsing locally made gifts.

Centre Cup Coffee has a selection of customizable soy candles, coffees, and teas that customers can use to create their own gift box.
