It was a calm Thanksgiving for many around the Ohio Valley, until many traded in the turkey legs for major discounts.
Like many areas across the nation, Black Friday started early at areas like the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville and The Highlands in Ohio County.
WTRF.com found several shoppers already lined up and waiting for the doors to open.
Dave Porter, who was the first person in line at Sears told WTRF.com, "so many people get upset with ya, because you're here first and stuff like that. But I tell them, you gotta get up early. I've been here since 3:30 in the morning to get that spot."
Sears Assistant Manager Wally Linton said many of the crowd searched for bargains in electronics, but major appliances also attracted shoppers.
