Police have released the names of two women killed in a tractor trailer accident on Saturday in western Pennsylvania.

Authorities said a mother and daughter from Hughesville, Maryland were killed in the crash. They are identified as 21-year-old Kaitlin Babka and 57-year-old Karen Babka.

The accident happened Saturday on Interstate 70 in South Strabane Township. Investigators say the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of the vehicle while traveling westbound.

Police say the rig crossed the median, flipped over and skidded into eastbound traffic, crushing the Babkas' car.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 44-year-old Yevgeniy Bugreyev of West Sacramento, Calif., is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

He remained in custody Sunday. Court documents did not list an attorney.

Authorities say two people are dead after a tractor trailer crash in western Pennsylvania.

The accident happened Saturday on Interstate 70 in Washington County. 

State police say the driver of the tractor trailer lost control of the vehicle on westbound I-70. The rig crossed the median, flipped over and skidded into eastbound traffic. 

Investigators say the tractor trailer crushed a car, killing a mother and daughter from Maryland.

Moments later, an SUV traveling westbound slammed into the rig. Troopers say two people inside were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the tractor trailer is from California and is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. Bond was set $1 million. 

He is being held in the Washington County Jail pending a preliminary hearing.
