Dover Chemical Corp. Cited for 47 Health and Safety Violations

A chemical company in Dover Ohio has been cited for dozens of violations and nearly $545,000 in fines after a vapor release temporarily closed the plant and a nearby highway. 

Information received from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Wednesday showed it cited Dover Chemical Corp. for 47 health and safety violations.

They include not fixing deficiencies found in compliance audits and having inadequate information about the hazardous effects of inadvertently mixing chemicals.  There were no injuries reported.
