Three Plead Guilty in Pill Conspiracy

Posted: Updated:

A Moundsville woman was among three individuals who entered guilty pleas in federal court on Thursday for their roles in a Florida to West Virginia pill ring.

Millie F. Roupe, 34, of Moundsville, Dana K. Deem, 32, of Deland, Florida, and John T. Bowie III, 39, of Longwood, Florida, entered guilty pleas to charges of conspiracy to distribute schedule II controlled substances from March of 2012 to September 12, 2012 in Moundsville. All three are free on bond pending sentencing.

The joint investigation was carried out by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, the DEA, the United States Postal Service and the West Virginia State Police beginning in the spring of 2012 when agents received information that Roupe's apartment in Marshall County was being used to distribute pills being brought to West Virginia from Florida. During the probe, two traffic stops were conducted in which $5,500 in drug proceeds were seized.
