MORGANTOWN -

Dr. Christopher C. Colenda, chancellor for health sciences at West Virginia University, has been selected to a one-year term as chairman of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the federally recognized accrediting body for programs in the United States and Canada offering medical degrees.

Colenda's appointment to the LCME comes via the Association of American Medical Colleges. That group and the American Medical Association are the LCME's two institutional sponsors.
