
West Liberty University Basketball Point Guard Cedric Harris was arrested on a driving under the influence charge Thursday morning.
Ohio County Sheriff Pat Butler said Harris's car hit a bridge on North Fork Road in Ohio County near Route 88 at 1 a.m.
Authorities said Harris was the only person in the car when the accident occurred and he was not injured.
Authorities said a field sobriety test showed he had an alcohol level of 0.13.
Authorities said Harris was taken to the Northern Regional Jail and charged with a first offense DUI.
Harris was an All-American basketball player from Zanesville, Ohio.
West Liberty University's Director of Media Relations released this statement.
"West Liberty University is aware of an off-campus incident with one of its students and we are investigating the matter. We want to respect his student rights under the federal privacy law and have no further comment at this time, ''said Zambito.
