An early morning drug raid put a stop to an alleged thriving business in Glen Dale.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department along with Moundsville Police, State Police, the Drug Task Force and the DEA executed a federal search warrant on the house at 508 Tomlinson Avenue.
Sheriff-Elect Kevin Cecil says they took the renter of the home, Joey McDonald, into custody.
"The subject who was arrested had allegedly been dealing for quite some time," said Cecil. "He was very bold. It was obvious to many people in the neighborhood. It's a goal of ours and a priority of mine, to rid our neighborhoods of people like this."
Cecil says they found narcotics--pills, cocaine and heroin.
He says the suspect's alleged activities had become bolder and bolder, and it was a source of frustration for neighbors who could watch alleged transactions at all hours.
He has this message to people who think nothing's being done.
"We've been working for some time on this," Cecil says. "And people get frustrated, you know, when they don't see things happening. So just because you don't see it happening, doesn't mean it's not happening. We're looking at it, we're building cases, we're gathering evidence. We'll get the job done."
Cecil says the investigation is still ongoing, and other suspects may be arrested.
