1,500 Without Power in Brooke County - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

Brooke County Schools are closed today due to a power outage that struck part of the county overnight.

About 1,500 households in the Washington Pike area of Brooke County reportedly lost power sometime after 2 a.m.

Allen Staggers of Mon Power told 7 News that a substation in the Cross Creek area lost power because of damaged fuses. He said it's still unclear what caused the damage, but crews are on the scene, and they expect power to be restored today.
