    Champion Industries Inc. on June 14 announced a reduced second quarter 2013 net loss from continuing operations of $700,000, compared to a$21.0 million for the quarter last year.
    HUNTINGTON, WV — Champion Industries Inc. on June 14 announced a reduced second quarter 2013 net loss from continuing operations of $700,000, compared to a net loss from continuing operations of $21.0 million for the quarter that ended April 30, 2012.

The West Virginia Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop on business fundamentals from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in Franklin.

The workshop is part of the WVSBDC's training and business coaching program "Three Step Jump Start," to help small business owners receive the right information at the right time.

The workshop will take place in the Pendleton County Economic Authority conference room inside the Pendleton Business Center, also known as the Hanover Building, at 100 Thorn Creek Road in Franklin.

Registration is required by Dec. 14, and individuals may register at 304-530-4964.

The program, "Three Step Jump Start," provides information about the structure and services offered by the WVSBDC. After the Dec. 19 workshop in Franklin, interested entrepreneurs will be able to schedule a one-on-one appointment with WVSBDC for coaching sessions on business plan development, financial statement preparation, cash flow analysis and other services.

The WVSBDC is part of the West Virginia Development Office, and is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
