Timeline Clears Dunnom of Charges

Posted: Updated:

All charges have been dropped against West Liberty University student Vernon Dunnom, and today, he is thankful to be back on campus for finals week.

Dunnom spoke with WTRF's DK Wright this morning and told her he has been treated very well since evidence confirming his innocence against murder charges has come out.  He says officials at the Northern Regional Jail "ought to get a raise" for how they handled his situation. He says "they knew an innocent man when they saw one."

Here is a closer look at the evidence that cleared Dunnom:

On Friday, November 16th, Dunnom was spotted with multiple students on campus, and signed a receipt at the Liberty Tavern after dinner at 7:53 p.m.

On Saturday, November 17, the day of the alleged crime, Dunnom's card was swiped for lunch at the Marketplace in Rogers Hall.

A review of school security cameras shows a man matching Dunnom's description entering the Marketplace cafeteria on Saturday afternoon. Dunnom's card then was swiped to enter Beta Hall, and just about an hour later, Dunnom picked up a package at the College Union Office- where he had to present a driver's license and sign for.

That night he had Domino's Pizza for dinner.

On Sunday, November 18th, Dunnom went to the Steelers and Ravens game in Pittsburgh and his swipe card showed he came back to Beta Hall at 2:25 a.m.
