
W.Va. SBA awards $6.2M for school projects
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — School construction and repair projects in eight counties are getting funding from the state.
The West Virginia School Building Authority awarded more than $6.2 million in grants Monday.
Mercer County received $1 million to replace boilers at four schools. Upshur County also received $1 million to renovate heating and air conditioning at three schools.
Kanawha County received $750,000 to build a classroom addition at John Adams Middle School.
The authority awarded $771,600 to Cabell County and $768,950 to Doddridge County for heating and air conditioning projects.
Fayette County received $806,760 to replace a boiler at Divide Elementary School.
Grant County received $934,808 for improvements at Maysville Elementary School.
The authority awarded $210,910 to Ohio County to repair the foundation and replace a ramp at Triadelphia Middle School.
