In light of the Newtown tragedy, Dick's Sporting Goods, which is based in Pittsburgh, has announced that they are suspending sales of modern rifles and removing all guns from display at the company's store closest to Newtown.
A statement on Dick's corporate website expresses sympathy for the victims' families and says that sales of the modern sporting rifles will be suspended during "this time of national mourning."
They did not say how long it would last. The company has more than 500 stores in 44 states.
