PARKERSBURG (AP) — Smoking in hotels and motels would be banned in six counties under Clean Indoor Air revisions proposed by the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department.
Department executive director Dick Wittberg tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that smoking also would be prohibited at private functions in meeting and conference rooms at fraternal organizations.
Public comments on the proposed changes are being accepted.
The health department's board will consider the revisions in January. If approved, the revisions would go into effect in the spring of 2014.
The health department serves Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Wood counties.
