Former Bridgeport Cub Scout Den Mom Jennifer Tyrrell is making national headlines once again.

Tyrrell is being featured in the national magazine "The Advocate" as one of the "People Who Shaped Us in 2012"

Tyrrell was banned from being involved with the Boy Scouts because she is a lesbian. After being booted from the organization, she went on a national campaign to raise awareness of the issue and gained support from thousands of people across the nation.

She also started a petition to be reinstated. That petition now has more than 335,000 signatures.
