Wheeling Central Boys Fall in Undo's Final, Girls Win

The Wheeling Central boys basketball team held a modest three-point, third-quarter lead, but eventually lost 57-42 against Archbishop McNicholas (Cin.) in the final of the Undo's Catholic Tournament at Wheeling Jesuit University's McDonough Center.

Wheeling Central was led by junior David Park with 16 points, senior Brandon Wallace added a dozen.

The Rockets were paced by junior guard Danny Byrne with 17 points.

In the girls final, Wheeling Central had an easy time with Weirton Madonna in a 55-22 victory.  It was head coach Penn Kurtz's third straight title Undo's title, and 13 of 15.  Delaney Denniston led the way with 14 points. Senior post Colleen McCormick, who went over 1,000 career points in the semifinals, had 11 points. West Liberty University recruit Emily Bucon chipped in with nine.

Madonna freshman Isabella Rosso had seven points for the Lady Blue Dons.
