One man is behind bars after being arrested by the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force Friday.
According to authorities U.S. Marshals in Wheeling received a request from USMS Oklahoma to locate and arrest James Stephens. Stephens was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender, which was issued on Sept. 27, 2012 from Oklahoma County, Okla.
The MSFTF conducted surveillance on several hotels in the area attempting to locate Stephens according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Chad Simpson. At about 12:45 a.m. Deputy U.S. Marshals located Stephens' vehicle outside the Ohio Valley Mall in Belmont County, Ohio. When Stephens returned to the car he was arrested without incident.
Stephens was transported to the Belmont County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.
