The Wheeling Park Patriots were handed a 70-43 loss by St.Josephs Prep (Philadelphia) in the 6th annual Cancer Research Classic at Wheeling Jesuit University's McDonough Center.
The Prep's Miles Overton, a Wake Forest recruit, led all scorers with 21 points. Notre Dame signee, Steve Vasturia, added 20 points. Luke Saseen had 10 for Wheeling Park.
In a much-anticipated matchup, which was televised live by ESPN2, the Montverde Eagles defeated the Simeon Wolverines 82-53 . DeKari Johnson, who announced he's going to Kentucky at halftime of the game, led all scorers with 18 points. Jabari Parker, who recently committed to Duke, led Simeon with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
The final game of the night, which was televised on ESPNU, Gonzaga defeated Salesian 65-59.
