A judge in Kanawha County is cracking down on parents who refuse to make their child's education a top priority.
Some parents are showing up to court with nothing but excuses as to why their child has missed 20, 30, 40 days of school, all within a matter of months.
But in yesterday's hearing, one parent showed up high on drugs.
Craig Rogers was given 60 days of probation and a fine after two of his children missed dozens of days since the beginning of the school year.
Rogers also admitted that he would test positive for drugs.
Judge Duke Bloom started cracking down on truancy cases last year.
