Weirton police arrested a Wheeling man Friday night on drug charges based out of Ohio County. Anthony David DeCollo II, 29, was arrested for on charges of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance back in May of 2012.
According to authorities, on May 30, 2012 two officers met with DeCollo and another individual, Joshua Flati, at North Park Apartments Eagle Court Building one Apt. 112. The officers set up a purchase of 45 grams of K2 synthetic marijuana from the two by a Craig's List advertisement. Upon entering the residence, authorities say the officers asked who they had spoke with on the telephone to set up the deal and at that time DeCollo identified himself as the speaker on the phone.
Flati then placed 45 round plastic containers, containing the suspected substance, on the table and the officers handed Flati $230 of BCI money, authorities say. The purchased evidence was then taken to the WEst Virginia State Police CID Lab for analysis where it was determined to be a schedule I controlled substance.
A warrant was issued for DeCollo's arrest. Upon DeCollo's arrest, Weirton police extradited him to Ohio County where he was arraigned by Ohio County Magistrate Joe Roxby.
DeCollo was taken to the Northern Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.
