Rep. David McKinley, (R) West Virginia, is trying to bring Washington back to West Virginia.
Friday, he took the oath of office in his home state during a ceremony at the Federal Courthouse in Wheeling.
Rep. McKinley was officially sworn in a few weeks ago in Washington D.C., but he is spending some time in the friendly city this weekend to focus on the economy here in the ohio valley.
McKinley will be holding a series of roundtable discussions over the next several months, hearing straight from West Virginians and taking that knowledge back to Washington. Rep. McKinley said he has introduced several pieces of legislation as a result of these kinds of meetings.
McKinley wants West Virginians to have confidence that he and his colleagues are trying to improve the economy and put people back to work.
