Candlelight Vigil Held in Support of Sexual Assault Victims

Weirton, W.Va. -

Rape is a growing issue, not just in this country, but all across the world. On Saturday night, survivors and advocates joined together to draw attention to this growing issue at the Millsop Community Center in Weirton.

A number of people braved the cold for a candlelight vigil. They say they're hoping to bring light to the dark world we are living in.

One third of all women worldwide will be victims of gender based violence in their lifetime.  Up to half of all sexual assaults are committed to girls who are under the age of 16. Saturday's vigil was an attempt to put an end to this.
