In the midst of gearing up for tax season, the H&R Block office in Bellaire teamed up with the Belmont County Sheriff's department Sunday for children's safety.
The office handed out Child Identification Kits with fingerprinting ink for parents to keep on hand. They also sponsored a coloring contest. The lucky winner will receive a brand new bike. H&R Block District Manager, Roshelle Fetzer, says the office wanted to do something to give back to the children in their community.
"Giving back to the community is something H&R Block believes in," she says. "The office here has a passion for children. Several of them have children, then we have some retired school teachers, so the office here was very fired up about focusing on children, and doing something to help raise awareness of child safety in the community."
The ID kits are available after today's event. H&R Block is gearing up for a busy tax season, even though the IRS is opening later than usual. They're planning on pushing back their peak season until February 15th.
