Bridgeport City Schools are doing all they can to make sure their students stay safe.
Officials with the school district held a meeting Sunday to inform the public of a new levy and give them a chance to voice their opinions on the issue.
The $1 million levy will be used to put a resource officer in the school.
The biggest issue is the cost of the project. The levy will require the average tax payer to pay an extra $9 to $25.
Bridgeport Schools Superintendent Ted Downing says that with recent school related shootings, it is better to be safe than sorry.
