This week's Robinson Auto Group Athlete of the Week is St.Clairsville senior Dan Monteroso, who put his name into some elite company over the weekend.
Monteroso scored a game-high 24 points in a loss against Cleveland St.Ignatius on Sunday in the Dunk 4 Diabetes Shootout in Canton.
He made a pair of free throws, near the end of the third quarter, for career points 2,000 and 2001, cracking the 2,000 point barrier.
The school's all-time scoring leader, is a four-year starter, and is the 42nd player in Ohio history to go over over 2,000.
He credits his coaches, teammates and family for giving him the drive and motivation to play at such a high level.
