Woodsfield Police continue to search for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in her own home.
Police Chief Chuck Hamilton says the woman discovered the man had walked into her house at 6:30 a.m. Monday.
The chief says the man sexually assaulted the woman, but she managed to get away from him.
She reportedly ran into a bedroom and came out with a shotgun, pointing it at the man, who then fled on foot.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, and she has been released.
Chief Hamilton says the white male is approximately five-feet ten inches tall, weighing about 180-190 pounds.
At the time of the assault, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket and a black full face ski mask.
Anyone with information or ideas about the man's identity is urged to call Woodsfield Police at (740) 472-5771.
