Consol Energy sponsored a breakfast for the Marshall County Chamber, at the Grand Vue Banquet Hall Wednesday morning.
David Knuth, the executive director of Marshall County Chamber said about 160 people were in attendance to meet and network, from chamber members to business owners, and folks from the gas companies.
"We have an awful lot of chamber members here that have businesses that could associate and network with the gas companies," Kruth says.
West Virginia Senate President Jeff Kessler was on hand to give a preview of the upcoming legislative session.
"I have the role of giving an overview of the issues to be presented to the legislature, the challenges that we have, and what we can expect to see in the news in the next sixty days," he says.
A representative from Consol also addressed the crowd.
Two community investment grants are handed out Wednesday morning as well. The City of Cameron was given a grant for First Responder Services from Consol Energy. This allows officials to discuss the needs of first responders and emergency squads.
The Strand Theater was awarded $6,600 from Consol to sponsor theater events in the coming year.
