As government contracts get bigger, requirements that once were performed under numerous contracts might now be performed under only one.

For many companies — especially for those that are too small to win or perform large contracts alone — teaming has become an integral part of their sales strategy. A successful prime-subcontractor relationship can be as lucrative as a successful contractor-government relationship.

Whether a prime contractor or a sub, this session by Eric Whytsell, manager of Jackson Kelly PLLC's Washington, D.C. office, will provide information on making good choices.

Whytsell represents clients on a range of federal, state and local procurement matters.

In addition to helping clients understand and assess the potential benefits and risks presented by government contracts, he advises on teaming, joint ventures and subcontracting arrangements and on compliance with small business and socio-economic programs.

The free workshop takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Robert H. Mollohan Research Center at  I-79 Technology Park in Fairmont. It is hosted by the I-79 Development Council and the WVHTC Foundation Affiliate Services Group.
