
UPDATE:
According to MSHA, Brandon E. Townsend, 34, of Delbarton, in Mingo County, W. Va. was killed at the Blue Creek Prep Plant.
The injured worker has yet to be identified.

According to Amy Louviere with MSHA, a miner was killed at Blue Creek Prep Plant when according to witnesses a hydraulic jack exploded on a belt press.
A second miner was injured, but there is no word on their condition.
Blue Creek mining complex is located in southern West Virginia and is made up of two underground mines. The complex uses continuous mining methods.
The complex is owned by Patriot Coal. In 2011, Patriot paid $28 million to purchase Blue Creek preparation plant.
According to MSHA, there have been no fatalities at this facility prior to this one. Before this MSHA had only issued minor citations.
Emergency officials are at the scene of a fatal accident at the Blue Creek Prep Plant owned by Midland Trail Energy LLC.
Early reports claim that one person has died after a hydraulic pump explosion.
The West Virginia office of Miners Health and Safety Training spokesperson Leslie Fitzwater is looking into the explosion.
