The annual West Liberty Great Gala is set for Friday, April 19. The night features dinner, dancing and entertainment and always has a theme. This year's gala is set to have a 1960's theme.
The title sponsor is again the Ryan Ferns Healthplex. At a press conference held at Fern's Healthplex in Benwood, Ferns said he's excited to once again work with the university.
"It's actually an event that I attended myself a few years ago for the first time and just thought it was an extremely well done and well put together event and of course it goes to a great cause too," said Ferns. "So we thought it was a great combination to build awareness for our new facility and also to support a university that's the pride and join of our town."
WLU President Robin Capehart said the event does not only benefit the university.
"Many of the projects that we have on our campus are not only benefiting our campus but also benefiting our community"
All proceeds from the night go toward the Capital Campaign, which includes the construction of the new Campbell Hall of Health Sciences, the renovations of Kelly Theatre and Shaw Hall as well as athletic facility improvements.
WTRF is a proud sponsor.
