At Darlington Raceway Tuesday the track came alive as drivers participated in another Goodyear Tire Test. Darlington, also known as The Track too Tough to Tame, is the site of the Bojangles Southern 500.
The spectators on hand were very interested by the new Gen-6 car, NASCAR's next generation Sprint Cup car that will be on the track in the 2013 season.
Michael Waltrip Racing's Martin Truex, Jr. thinks the new car allows a driver to be more aggressive on the track. Roush Fenway's Carl Edwards feels Darlington is a learning experience.
After 18 months of on-track testing, with more than 30 drivers, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Gen 6 racer is hitting the road on a multi-city blitz introducing the Chevrolet SS, the Ford Fusion and the Toyota Camry to the racing public.
The first stop is Detroit, followed by New York City before heading to Daytona Beach for Daytona Speedweeks.
