The YWCA is holding its second annual "Little Bid of Help" fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 9. It's the one time a year the organization can raise a large amount of money for their cause, spreading awareness about the prevention of domestic violence, say YWCA officials.
Doors open at 3 p.m., a penny auction starts at 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. followed by wine tasting and a live auction for bigger items beginning around 7 p.m. Last year, this event was very successful in helping women and children here in the Ohio Valley.
"Last year, we raised roughly $6,000. It was a nice event," said Program Director Patricia Flannigan. "This year, we put an extra spin, including the penny auction and the wine tasting. So we're hoping that folks will come out and enjoy it and provide assistance for victims of domestic violence."
It's an afternoon filled with food, drinks, and plenty of fun for the entire family. All proceeds will benefit the WYCA and their domestic violence prevention program.
