River High School senior Nick Asturi will play his college football at Division II West Virginia Wesleyan.
The running back/inside linebacker was a workhorse for Mike Flannery's Pilots on both sides of the ball. He finished his senior season with 1,055 yards with 19 touchdowns, and was named Third-Team, All-State. He's the fifth Pilot in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season.
On defense, Asturi made 42 solo tackles, with two interceptions, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.
He plans to be roommates with Magnolia senior Stephen Rogalski, who also committed to the Bobcats on Sunday.
