Shadyside High School's Karli Bonar has been selected as this week's WTRF/ Robinson Auto Group Athlete of the Week.
Bonar put her name at the top of the Ohio record books in career 3-pointers, by dropping seven 3-pointers against Bridgeport in the OVAC Girls Basketball Semifinals. Bonar eclipsed the Ohio girls (328) and boys (329) records in the same game. She made three more bonus-bombs on Saturday, helping her Lady Tigers claim the OVAC Class 2A title by beating Wheeling Central 53-44.
"It was a crazy week," said Bonar. "I'm just glad we won both games."
The University of Findlay recruit finished the regular-season with 335 career 3s. She can add to her records as the Lady Tigers (15-7) begin post-season play this Saturday as the No.1 seed in the sectional when they battle Caldwell (2-18) at 6 p.m. at Union Local High School.
